Foggy Few are from Bergen Norway and play Celtic folk rock. I guess the Celtic scene up in Norway is quite big. I know the Greenland Whalefishers are up there (and in Bergen too). Not sure why, but it took me a few listens to really like the Foggy Few. It could have been the vocals that sound a little weird to me. It definitely takes awhile to get used to. Atle-Hien sort of sounds like Mike Scott of the Waterboys a little bit. I like the acoustic sound to the band, and not sure how the Foggy Few would sound as a loud folk rock band. The acoustic, pub style folk is more fitting for these guys and they are good at it. I would love to hear the band live in a small venue or pub; they seem like a very energetic folk band. I also enjoyed listening to the instrumental tracks like “A Foggy Morning” and most of “Mairi’s Wedding/The Mason’s Apron.” Fans of Celtic & folk music might like this album. Bottom Line: A folk band that sounds like the Norwegian versions of the Waterboys and Clancy Brothers
Notable Tracks: Summer Feelgood, The Pint of No Return, The Jolly Beggarman
Overall Rating:
