G.G. Elvis and the TCP Band features members of NOFX, Aggression, Bad Samaritans, Ill Repute, Stalag 13 & Dr. Know. I’m sure they decided one drunken night that it would be a funny idea to combine GG Allin and Elvis together into a punk rock tribute band. Well I’m not sure what everyone else thinks of this band but I think this album is entertaining! I’m just amused on how the band is dressed up, and the punk rock songs aren’t that bad either!
The album starts off with “Intro” and then goes into “That’s All Right Mama.” They mix together punk rock songs with the actual songs as well. For the first song they put “Blitzkrieg Bop” by the Ramones into the song. They aren’t the first band to do something like this, because Me First and the Gimme Gimmes start off their songs with classic punk songs. For the most part, I like all the Elvis songs that they cover. Their sound is very GG Allin-ish; rare & fast punk rock. Besides the CD, the album contains a DVD featuring videos, interviews and other stuff. If you like gimmicky punk rock, than you’ll really like G.G, Elvis and the TCP Band!
