Harry Gregson-Williams has been busy in the last few months with his other scores that got released like The Rundown, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. I haven’t seen this movie but I like what I hear from the score. Besides the tracks from Harry GregsonWilliams, there’s is 2 songs from Sinead O’Connor. I haven’t really listened to Sinead O’Connor before but I liked the 2 tracks she did, even though they are basically the same song. Her voice and lyrics gives the songs a sense of sadness, and if you knew the story to the movie, that’s probably why. The score definitely has that Celtic feel to it, with a couple of traditional sounding Celtic songs on here. The main theme of the song that keeps popping up sounds very similar to Thomas Newman’s slow piano theme in Road To Perdition. That’s not a bad thing because I love that song, it just very similar. The use of violins and other string instruments works nicely. Overall, the score is dark at times, and softly composed with a sad theme to it so if that’s your sort of tea, then check this score out.
Bottom Line: If you like Sinead O’Connor and film scores from Gregson-Williams then why not buy this?
