New split EP from Hoods and Freya(Ex-Earth Crisis) that shows what the Hardcore scene is about today. It is very different. At times, it’s heavier but then the emo-screamo-crap comes into play and just ruins the sound. With the Hoods, who have been in the scene for ten years, hailing from California shows what style they play. Independent, DIY ethics, and Loyalty are some of the practices they preach. Tough as nails vocals, crazy mad drumming, and ferocious metal riffs is what the Hoods embody. Freya, formerly of Earth Crisis featuring Karl, Eric and Bulldog, are back with another EP and are pretty similar to Earth Crisis. Only 5 tracks for Freya and most are pretty short. But from listening to this and previous Freya songs, these are much heavier and better. So they are headed in the right direction.

Bottom Line: Hoods and Freya get better and better as they develop and age as a band.
Notable Tracks: Immortal Beloved, West Coast Worldwide, Guilty, Ashes of Troy
