With thick echo effects and art/prog elements, all-female group HotChaCha offers another interesting if uneasy listen. From the psych-rocker “Naked Glass” to the funkadelic “Bukarest,” HotChaCha has a way of getting under your skin.

Like an echo chamber swirling with oblique melodies, thumping percussion, and gauzy vocals, “Fantastic Static” would be relegated to ominous psych rock if not for its odd catchiness and punky attitude. Hipsterish but good.

Bottom Line: Sassy psych rock.
