Metalcore is a sausagefest, so it’s amazing to discover a band with a female singer. And I mean REAL female singer – not just an emo dude with a falsetto voice and lip ring.

But In This Moment is otherwise very unremarkable. The music is pedestrian and uninspired, and while Maria Brink has a good voice, it doesn’t seem well-suited for this mindless, testerone-fueled garbage. I was actually thinking that she could be a good replacement for The Epoxies if that Epoxy chick is ever eaten by a robot or something.

So I’d say pass on this, and while you’re at it, pass on all metalcore. Listen to the Epoxies instead.

Bottom Line: Hot girl + bad metalcore = still not worth it
