I was curious what James Newton Howard was goingto approach this score. It’s sort of similar to Signs in that it uses a repetitive violin motif as the main theme. I still haven’t seen this movie, probably from all the bad worth of mouth is has been getting and then I found out the twist. Not sure how I feel about it yet but I’m still interested in seeing the film. I’m sure the film score Howard fits the movie, and is used to scare like it did in Signs. But this score is also like sort of more quiet and laid back. More like an underscore. I liked the theme with the violins but I feel this album could have been a tad better.

Bottom Line: Good score by Howard but I felt disappointed with it.
