Jil Station isn’t a female singer/songwriter, but an indie pop band trying to rip off of 80s bands. Their low-key pop sound is like a bland(er) Roxy Music, and the vocalist has the self-important Morrissey quality in his voice, but lacks the charming anguish to back it up.

The better tunes have a faster dance pace (yet still low-key in its own way), which will bring to mind a bad attempt at Depeche Mode. Not quite the sum of their parts, Jil Station is a speck of dust in comparison to their influences.

Bottom Line: Unlike Depeche, I just got enough.
