Guitar Legend creates another instrumental rock record, but with a new twist to his style. Joe introduces/ reintroduces his electronica music to the backbone of his work. Joe Satriani normally rocks hard on his albums but this one is different. The electronica brings him back to his old days when he was putting together demo tapes for “Not of this Earth” but this is very much like the newer underground industrial music. I think I like him doing straight up rock instrumentals then the digital music sound in the background. His previous album in “Crystal Planet,” serves as a better indication of Joe’s guitar work. “Engines of Creation,” show Joe’s creativity with experiementation with keyboards, synthezizers, as well as other digital gizmos. “Satch” fans will enjoy this album. I am growing to like it.
