Dances With Wolves is probably in my top 3 film scores of all time. The score gives the movie a big boost, even though I think the movie is excellent. It just has that epic feel to it. I believe, out of all the scores that John Barry has composed, this is the one that is a masterpiece. Whenever you hear it, you know what movie it’s from. “Journey To Sedgewick” just gives me goosebumps and is my favorite track on the CD. Always has been my favorite, and now the track’s longer since this CD is an expanded version of the soundtrack. There’s 24 tracks on here, with quite a few addition music added to the mix, and I’m very happy this expanded CD is out because I just can’t express how many times I’ve listened to this score over the years. The score has moments of action like “Buffalo Hunt” or “Rescue of Dances With Wolves,” or romantic cues like “Love Theme” (obvious right?) or great themes like “John Dubar” “Two Solks The Wolf.” Any film score nut like myself will want to buy this expanded collector’s edition of Dances With Wolves score John Barry. Why? Because it’s a masterpiece.
Bottom Line: One of the greatest film scores of all time!
