Another flick I want to see but haven’t yet. The movie is a blatant spoof on James Bond and the soundtrack/score has a similar style. The Infamous Mr. Bean, actor Rowan Atkinson plays Johnny English, an inept secret agent who has to save England from the bad guys. It looks funny but I never got a chance to see it in the theaters but heard it was a huge hit overseas. Robbie Williams starts the CD off great with a catchy little number called “A Man For All Seasons” and the song has a little ska riff happening. “Theme for Johnny English” is pretty much the Bond theme, just slightly different. The Cd offers a few different styles of the theme like a Salsa theme, which I like better than the normal version. The score has some good action cues, but also has a few slow jazz songs as well. I never listen to ABBA before but they have a song on here called “Does Your Mother Know” and I can imagine what’s happening on screen when this song pops up. It’s probably like a fun montage of Rowan acting zany and funny that he does so well. Fans of the James Bond scores will probably like to have this one and listen to until a new Bond hits the big screen again.

Bottom Line: You like the movie? And the music? Then I wouldn’t see why not. Also fans of Bond scores might want
