You want a skankin’ CD to listen to? Look no further than The Kingpins, from Canada. They have a “third wave” sound if there should be any categorizing. Their title track “Plan Of Action” will get your ass moving. The band is lead Lorraine, who has a great singing voice. The horn section is mainly saxphones, but with a few guest instruments on there as well. “L’ Aventurier” is a kickin’ French song. Who knows what she’s singin’ about, but it’s good. I took 2 years of French in high school and I can’t even understand what’s she saying. God I suck. It’s good to hear some great ska. It’s been awhile since I found a decent ska CD to listen to, especially nowadays. Ska fans will want to get this CD, and if you like female vocals in a ska band; this CD is definitely worth getting.
