Latterman’s first two albums are the finest in its genre of ambitious, high-concept emo/punk youth rock, but We Are Still Alive feels flat and stale.

It may be that I had high expectations for this band, but I don’t find this album challenging or interesting like I do their others. “Good Morning, Here is Jan” and “Will This Be on the Test” reach that soaring height; the rest isn’t up to snuff.

Bottom Line: Disappointment from one of the only emo bands I can listen to.
