Left Alone’s second Hellcat release is a lot better than their first album “Lonely Starts & Broken Hearts” I can tell that the band has gotten better just from listening to the very first song “The Sinner”. If you never heard of the group, they hail from California and sing in Spanish & English. Plus they play straight up punk rock one minute, then they have skankin’ ska-punk tunes. Sometimes they have some keyboards and horns in their songs as well.
The second track “City to City” is a prime example of their ska type songs, and it sounds very Rancid-ish as well. The band threw me for a loop when the song “Done Wrong” came on, because it’s very cow-punk. I guess they like to experiment with different styles of punk and there is nothing with that. They play those different styles well so might as well play ’em. I think if the band keeps releasing albums like this, they are going to become huge in the punk scene.
Bottom Line: A far better release than their first album on Hellcat
Notable Tracks: The Sinner, City to City,New York City, 4 weeks
