Less Than Jake have been around for 20 years already!? I’ve been a fan for 15 years of that 20. Instead of just releasing full-length albums lately, Less Than Jake have released 2 small EPs containing 5 songs. The previous album “Greetings From” was released in the summer and the newest EP “Seasons Greetings…” was released in February. The funny thing this isn’t a holiday album. Would seem a bit silly to release a Christmas album in February, but then again this Less Than Jake we’re talking about.

The first track “New Auld Lang Syne” has a catchy “whoa whoa” chorus as the horns fade in. It’s an awesome way to start the EP. As much as I like In with the Out Crowd, I still prefer Less Than Jake to have that ska sound they are known for. This EP reminds me of their Hello Rockview and Borders and Boundaries albums, which is a good thing. “A Return To Headphones” is sung by Roger and probably the most complete ska song on the album, it’s also my favorite. “Done and Dusted” stands out as well. That song is more of a rockier song, with Chris providing the singing duties.

After 20 years, Less Than Jake haven’t sounded any better! For 5 bucks, you can’t beat 5 kick ass LTJ songs!

Bottom Line: 5 tracks is too short, I want a full length!
Notable Tracks: New Auld Lang Syne, A Return To Headphones, Done and Dusted
