Lou Rhodes is the singer of UK trip hop/drum & bass/fusion jazz band Lamb. So it’s a bit surprising that this album is light, airy singer/songwriter fare, like music written among elves in a forest. Or a hippy commune.
The music is a gentle waterfall with trickling acoustic guitar and bubbling, soft percussion. Rhodes’ voice fits perfectly with the delicate yet substantial music – she’s so natural, you wonder if this genre, and not Lamb, is her calling.
All that said, this is still acoustic hippyish folk stuff, and therefore does not rawwwk! It’s as if she’s never heard of Queensryche. WTF.
Bottom Line: Hauntingly beautiful, which totally isn’t punk rock.
