I had the chance to check out Magic Goat at the Big Orange Bonanza 2007 at Circleville, NY. They are a ska band from Syracuse, NY and think they have a good ska sound. Their female singer was quite attractive so that’s the main reason why I stopped over to see the band play. Hey i’m single, leave me alone. But their music was actually pretty decent as well. Who would have thought that I had their album all along, ready to be reviewed.

Their album contains 12 tracks in all and I must say, it’s not that bad. With a lot of ska bands, I think Magic Goat sound better live but if you like those songs live, this album is something to have. I think the singer Anna’s voice is great, and if the band plays more & matures their sound; they could be one of the better ska bands in NY.

Bottom Line: A good ska album for a band just starting out
