Michael Ian Black is a wonderful man! YAY! Well that’s according to his comedy album, that was released last month on Comedy Central Records. You might have seen Michael Ian Black on The State, Stella, Reno 911 or I Love the 80s. Now the writer/actor/comedian has a new stand-up CD that’s quite hilarious! I really like his dry sense of humor & jokes on the I Love the 80’s/70’s series, so I was looking forward to hearing what his stand-up would be like.

His stand-up act is similar to how he comes across on the TV shows. It’s just really dry but really funny to me. I’m sure his comedy style isn’t for everyone. He makes jokes about the Nazi party and the way he starts to say the name; it sounds like Fred Schneider of the B-52’s. He even points out to the crowd that his voice was getting flamboyant. Black mentions in a part of his stand-up act, that’s he’s not gay but everyone thinks he is. Well he definitely sounds it but apparently he’s married to a female and has some kids. I guess being a gay character and having a gay sex scene in Wet Hot American Summer doesn’t help either. But anyway, other topics Michael Ian Black talks about are things like terrorists, The Black Crowes, Hurricane Katrina, putting “Yay!” after everything, religious billboards, college girls and lots of other random things. If you liked Michael Ian Black on the TV shows he has appeared on, you’ll love his stand-up act.

Bottom Line: A funny stand-up but might not be for everyone.
