The soundtrack seemed nonexistent in the movie, but when I hear it on CD, it sounds decent. I think it could have been ten times better if Michael Kamen had more time allotted to making the score. The songs are somewhat very quiet and sometimes dark. Songs like “Death Camp” and “Magneto’s Lair” are example of very quiet or dark tracks, maybe because they have to deal with Magneto. In some of the songs, you can hear little techno sounds in them, probably when there is a fight sequence. I really liked Michael Kamen’s score for Robin Hood and I think this could have been a lot better if he had more time to work on it. Even though I didn’t hear the theme of all the songs in the movie, I heard it on the cd. The theme stands out in “X Jet” which I think is the best song on the album. Other tracks that stood out from the rest are “Train,” “Museum Fight,” “Statue of Liberty,” and “Final Showdown.” It’s basically a mediocre score in the movie and it could have been a lot better but there are a couple of good songs on here. I think there should have been an end credits track with a bunch of the songs merged into one like other film composers do. If you like music similar to Danny Elfman’s scores mixed with some techno beats thrown in there, then this is the score for you.
