Only Crime features band members of Good Riddance, The Descendents, Gwar, Converge and other bands. Russ Rankin of Good Riddance fronts the band and brings his powerful vocals to this hardcore punk band. I remember liking the first full-length from Only Crime and I think I like this album as well. Virulence seems a lot heavier than ‘To The Nines,’ maybe the band is angrier? I think by having the music heavier and louder this time, it tends to get a little clunky in some spots. But it only sounds like that in some songs, and thankfully not in all of them. I’m still on the fence on whether or not I like this album or not, but if you like the previous Only Crime album, give this a listen and find out for yourself.

Bottom Line: Decent sophomore release from Only Crime
