Despite having the second most emo name I’ve heard in a while (Scream!Hello wins that one by a mile), these guys are more punky pop than straight emo. That’s not to say that they have the same old emotional catharsis and songs about girls, but at least they change up the dynamics and write half-decent songs. It’s more pop than punk really, and they pretty much sound like Fall Out Boy. The production is top-notch and ready for a MTV2/rock radio fanbase that will get sick of them when they hit 16. In fact, on checking their website, I noticed that they’re currently on a tour of malls. And I thought only American Idol rejects did that.
Anyways, this isn’t bad, but if you’re over 17, there’s not much substance or reason to listen. They can write songs, but they’re destined for pivotal scenes on WB shows and the iPods of tweens. But hey, it probably allows the band a more than significant share of barely legal groupies.
Bottom Line: Nothing special, but listenable punk pop that is best listened before puberty.
Notable Tracks: Think Against The Grain, Too Much Information, Feels Like Affection, Lost
