This Parasites album is a best-of album that features 14 remastered songs. The band started out back in the mid-80s and have broken up a few times in the late 90s. They currently have a new lineup and recording new material I think. The Parasites have a old school pop punk sound that’s in the same vein as Screeching Weasel, The Queers, and The Descendents. But as far as I’m concerned, the Parasites never got the exposure like those other bands did. I just never really heard of this band until recently when I heard them on some compilations. Maybe I’m the one who’s out of the loop and should have heard of The Parasites sooner? Regardless of whether or not I heard of them before; I actually really enjoyed this album. I miss when punk sounded like this and it seems like it might be making a comeback so I’m happy about that. Retro-Pop Remasters is just a fun, old school pop punk album that fans of that sub-genre will like. Or maybe not. Who knows, what do I know?

Bottom Line: Great best-of album of a band I never really listened to before.
Notable Tracks: Ronnie is a Psycho, Crazy, Run Away, Something to Hold Onto
