((( COOZER’S PICK )))

The Pietasters’ early albums on Slugtone and Moon contain many of the most brilliant and addicting ska tunes of its time. While I have all their stuff and this CD set is largely unnecessary for me, it gets a Coozer’s Pick as a recommendation for any ska fan who doesn’t have Oolooloo and Strapped Live!

While you can still find Oolooloo and Strapped Live! in the used sections, this set does make it easier for the collector to get all their earlier works (self-titled and Comply) and unreleased tracks as well, which are worth checking out (and, lord knows, much better than their last few albums!).

This is a great collection of the Pietasters’ golden age, and a reminder of why I loved ska in the early 90s.
