Pleasant lo-fi stuff with ethereal female vox and lush accompaniment featuring shuffling drums and uncommon instruments.
While much of the album is comfily warm, some tunes throw in some indie distortion and jangly guitars to jar you awake.
They do it all well. The soft stuff doesn’t bore, and the indie stuff isn’t pretentious. It’s all very *nice* – a little Sonic Youth, a little Nico, a little Chicklet and Camera Obscura – all wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
