If you have been living under a rock for half a year, you should know by now that stellar 80’s band, The Police have reunited. The band decided to get back together for their 30th anniversary and pretty much make billions of dollars from sales on their concert tickets alone. I know I would if I was them. Their worldwide tour is the hottest concert ticket this summer and it’s really hard to find a ticket. Believe me, I have been trying but no dice. But if you don’t feel like forking over 500 dollars for a seat all the way in the back of the parking lot, this album is the next best thing! Believe it or not, this is the band’s first double-disc album. You get to hear all the classic Police songs, plus a lot of tunes that you might not necessarily hear on the radio all the time. The first disc has tracks like “Can’t Stand Losing You,” “Roxanne,” “Message in a Bottle,” and “Don’t Stand So Close To Me.” I don’t know why, but I never really liked “Roxanne” as much as the other tracks. I still think “Message in a Bottle” is my favorite Police track. “Can’t Stand Losing You” is another track I love on the first disc because its a catchy little reggae song.

The second disc has even more classics on it like “De Do Do Do Do..,” “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “Spirits in the Material World,” “Every Breathe You Take,” “Synchronicity II” and yadda yadda yadda. You get the point! The point is the Police have a long list of GREAT songs, and you don’t realize they have this many fantastic songs until you start listening to the band’s music. I used to listen to the Police when I grew up in the 80s, but that was just on the radio. Once I went to college, I bought a greatest hits album and couldn’t believe how many good songs were on this tape. (Yes it was a tape!) If you’re a fan of the Police, than this will serve as the ultimate greatest hits album in your collection! Sure, the 4-disc set is nice too but that’s like every song, this is all the greatest stuff!

Bottom Line: A great batch of Police songs spread out on 2 discs.
Notable Tracks: Can’t Stand Losing You, Truth Hits Everybody, Roxanne, So Lonely, Message in a Bottle, Don’t stand So Close to Me, De Do Do Do, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Spirits in the Material World, Every Breath You Take, Synchronicity II, King of Pain
