First off, love the CD packaging. This label puts out some really unique packaging designs. (They’re an artist-music collaborative thingy, hence the “Creative” part.)

I also like the title of the album, as I am a DBZ fanboy. Oh, Vegeta. When will you learn to work with the Z fighters?

The band itself – enh. The music has a bright, dazzling, jangly math rock sound, and they could actually work as a feel-good instrumental rock band. Maybe throw some surf in there and you’ve got yourself a solid gold record. With a bullet!

But they’re an art school band, which means there needs to be unlistenable dissonance. In this case, they rely on the squeaking and screeching of their singer – male or female, I have no idea. But it’s someone in desperate need of medical attention or a new career. Sure, it adds an unsettling element, but why unsettle us? What have we done to you, Ponytail? What have we done to you??! *cries*

Bottom Line: An expression of the shattered human condition. Nah, just stupid art rock.
