I was too scared to put this in my computer to listen to it. The band was created by Symantec (the company behind Norton Anti-Virus) to teach kids about the dangers of cyber identity theft.
So I’m scared for the following reasons: They’re a fake band with songs that are public safety announcements and advertisements for Norton Confidential; they look like over-the-hill Poison fans from Long Island who make $10/hour giving guitar lessons in their parents’ basements; and most importantly, I’m not putting a damn thing from Symantec on my computer. Besides the five crappy songs, who knows what files will be unleashed that will slow down my applications and check the authenticity of my programs. Fuck that shit.
I’m giving half a star above the minimum because Symantec did send me a free copy of Confidential. I’m not going to use it, but I do like free swag. But the trend of corporations using the power of rock n’ roll to sell their product is mondo lame. Most rock n’ roll is corporate enough to begin with, must we blur the lines even more?
Bottom Line: I prefer Coqroq – the band selling Burger King’s chicken fries.
