Saint Alvia Cartel are from Ontario and the members of the band are from Boys Night Out, Jersey, The Video Dead and Grade. I never really listened to those bands but these guys are pretty damn good! You can’t really put them into a genre because they play several styles. One minute you’ll hear them play a keyboard-driven punk rock song, than you’ll hear them do some ska & reggae and even a little bit folk or new wave. Right off the bat, I immediately thought the singer was from Ann Beretta. They both have that same raspy pop punk singing style and I like that. Also, someone else in the band sounds like Tim Armstrong as well.

Their single that’s been playing on the Canadian airwaves is “Don’t Wanna Wait Forever” and it’s a catchy lil’ tune. I also can’t help but think of Bedouin Soundclash when hearing that song. Either way, the song is good and definitely will make you go back to listen to it again. I know I did! I think the band sounds the best when they are playing in that cool, mellow reggae rock like that song. Although some of the punk songs sound decent as well. I really like the keys in the songs, and like the added touch of horns when used. I really liked this album and think you might too.

Bottom Line: This is a great summer album! So go out and get your beach chair, your drink and listen to the album! I guess you’ll need a cd player too…
