I normally don’t review promos that are just selected tracks from an upcoming album, but I felt the need to point out a couple of things:
1. This is out on “Victory Metal”, an imprint of the Victory empire. But isn’t Victory already essentially metal now? Well…
2. Sister Sin sound like early Motley Crue. Which is a very good thing. These two songs sound like “Live Wire” and “Kickstart My Heart” and have that utmost rocking 80s metal quality. The female vocals fit perfectly, even sounding like the male glam singers of the era, but cooler. So…
3. Is Victory Metal going to feature actual metal, the metal I grew up with? Or is this album an anomaly and Victory Metal will just be the crappy, sloppy, cookie cutter metalcore popularized by Victory proper since the late 90s?
4. Postscript: These two songs are really fucking good. I’m picking up this album.
5. Post-Postscript: Man, Motley Crue sure rocked back in the 80s. Stupid grunge, killing off hair metal. *shakes fist at Kurt Cobain*
