The debut full-length album from the Society’s Parasites is impressive. Loud, aggressive punk rock similar to the Unseen and The Casualties. The band hails from Echo Park, Los Angeles and formed around 1997. After finally getting a set lineup, Society’s Parasites signed with Hellcat and now have this self-titled album. With reviewing these types of albums, it’s kind of hard to do because a lot of the songs sound the same to me. All the songs are great but there’s only so many words one can describe a song for being fast, loud, raw, rough, aggressive, um..speedy? This album just screams punk rock and that’s all you really need to know. To hear some tracks, visit their MySpace page at: www.myspace.com/societysparasites
Bottom Line: Great punk band from…you guessed it, L.A.
Notable Tracks: In the City, American Nightmare, Echo Park
