SOS sound much better than in the past when they were a second-rate Biohazard (who, in turn, are a second-rate anything). On “Adult Situations,” they’re closer to being the “groove merchants” their press releases always claim them to be. They’ve also stopped trying to sound tough, which means they now sound less laughably corny.
They’re still not a band I’d make a conscious choice to listen to, but at least they seem maturer and on the right track to decent songwriting. Plus, the bassist is pretty good.
