This movie was nuts/awesome. The soundtrack includes various songs from the epic film, including Master Shake’s “Nude Love” (homage to the geeky love song in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes?); Mastodon’s warning to filmgoers, which was without a doubt the funniest part of the movie; Schoolly D’s remixed ATHQ theme; MC Chris’ “I Want Candy;” and a dozen more. The CD also includes some short skits of the characters introducing various hard rockin’ tunes.

While a good reminder of the film, the CD isn’t essential to own. The comedic songs are good in context of the surreal visuals and action, but it’s not like you’re going to crank up “Nude Love” for the hell of it. Meanwhile, the “normal” songs aren’t anything I care about (Unearth, Brass Castle, The Hold Steady).

Still though – the opening refreshments tune and Mastodon response had me laughing my ass off in the theaters. AQTH is sprawling and surreal, but way worth seeing for the first 5 minutes. Holy shit.
