Grindhouse was recently released in theaters, but now you can enjoy the music from the movie as well. Grindhouse was a double feature movie directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. “Death Proof” serves as the first movie and that’s by Tarantino. It stars Kurt Russell as a stuntman/psycho killer who runs down chicks with his car. Sounds like fun actually! I didn’t see the film yet but I want to, but at this point might as well wait for DVD.

Judging by previous Tarantino soundtracks, this soundtrack has just as many obscure and eclectic styles of music as the other ones. You got more music from legendary composer Ennio Morricone, score tracks by Nitzsche & Donaggio, and then you got 60’s & 70’s songs that I never heard of. Where the hell does he find this music? Like other Tarantino soundtracks, he includes a a few dialogue clips from the movie as well. That’s cool sometimes, but when you want to listen to the soundtrack more and more, you tend to skip those tracks. I think once I see the movie, I’ll enjoy the music more from this soundtrack. I still like the music from Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 1 & 2 more though.

Bottom Line: Fans of Death Proof will appreciate this soundtrack.
Notable Tracks: Music from Smith, Pacific Gas & Electric, and The Coasters
