I have yet to see the first Van Wilder movie, but now there’s a second movie with Kal Penn starring. If that character is named Taj, why is the movie still called Van Wilder? I don’t know. Anyway, this is the soundtrack to the sequel and is sure to please the fans of the movie.

Some of the bands featured on the soundtrack are Jonny Lives!, The Lashes, Everclear, Buckcherry, The Exies, Ordinary Boys, The Tossers and the most rockin-est band ever…HANSON! Ok, I’m joking about Hanson being the most rockin-est band ever but I’m definitely not joking that they are on this soundtrack. I just can’t take that stupid band seriously. Those little twerps ruined it for themselves with that annoying mmmBop song. Now they will be known for that song for the rest of their lives and it’s not something I’d like to be known for. I’m surprised they aren’t lying in the gutter and getting caught with tranny hookers yet.

I never heard of the Ordinary Boys before but they have a catchy ska-riffed song called “Boys will be Boys.” I thought that song was the best track on the album. The Tossers’ “Bucket of Beer” is from one of their older albums and the song even pops up in the movie as well. I’m surprised they picked that song and not something newer which they are more known for. I like “Bucket of Beer” and it’s one of the few songs I like from the band. T Duggins’ vocals annoy the shit out of me though. If you like mainstream rock and indie rock music, you’ll probably enjoy this soundtrack.

Bottom Line: Decent soundtrack but why on Earth is Hanson on this CD!?
Notable Tracks: Music from Ordinary Boys, The Lashes, the Tossers and Everclear
