Yes Man is the latest comedy from rubber face comedic actor Jim Carrey. The film also stars Zooey Deschanel, who also sings on a few songs on this soundtrack. I havent seen this movie yet but I want to see it eventually. I like Jim Carrey movies for the most part. I prefer his comedies over his weird dramas. At least he can do both.

This soundtrack mainly features music from the rock band Eels. I honestly havent heard much from Eels besides their music in other soundtracks. You might have heard their music in all the Shrek films, Scrubs, Road Trip, Hot Fuzz, Henry Poole is Here and others. I liked a lot of the songs; it was just nice mellow indie rock. Im sure the music fit the movie quite well. The last part of the soundtrack features songs from Zooey and the all female electro-soul punk band Von Iva. Are these songs sung in the movie? I dont know if they are, maybe some of them? The first song with Zooey and Von Ida isnt that good and Zooeys singing style doesnt fit at all. I like the song Uh huh, its really catchy and it will be melted into your brain after that. The title track Yes Man is another catchy song that Zooey sings in. I still prefer her music in She & Him instead of these electro punk songs.

For the most part, if you dont like the Eels or Zooey Deschanel & Von Ida, dont bother getting this album. I like the soundtrack for Yes Man even though Im not an Eels fan.

Bottom Line: Good songs by Eels and a few interesting songs by Zooey Deschanel and Von Ida
Notable Tracks: Man Up, Bus Stop Boxer, Uh Huh, Yes Man
