Leftover Cracks Scott Sturgeon planned to do this band with drummer Brandon Chevalier-Kolling, but the plan didnt pan out when Brandon passed away in 2004.

The unexpected death derailed plans for the band, and besides playing a one-off show in NYC; the band wasnt really set in stone. Things started taking shape in 2006 and the lineup was being secured. Now the band has their debut album out on Fat Mikes record label Fat Wreck Chords.

If Leftover Crack was going to make a new album, this one sounds awfully similar. But its still kind of different, since Nico De Gaillo is singing for most of the songs. Star Fucking Hipsters has a similar sound to Leftover Crack, a mixture of raw street punk and ska-punk. I dont care for the raw sounding punk rock, I can see it being tolerated back in the 70s and 80s. Now I just want to hear things a little bit crisper. Even though people have worked really hard to get this album made, Im just not really a fan of it or LOC. Its ok, just not something Id listen to again.

Bottom Line: Just having this album being made is an achievement in and of itself
