Early 90’s NJ punk rock band, who I think were neighbors and are good friends to the Bouncing Souls. Chunksaah Records celebrates the band with this 41 track (YES, 41 tracks!) double disc CD collection of hard to find songs and rare cuts from Sticks & Stones. The Cd release is also the 10th anniversary to the band’s debut release. The band reminds me of bands like Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits and of course the Bouncing Souls. So just imagine that type of sound and you got Stick & Stones. The whole CD captures the band’s life from 1987 to 1995. They do a great cover of Dead Kennedy’s “Moon Over Marin.” They also do a brilliant cover of the Police’s “Synchronicty II.” This is the type of sound I grew up on and got me into punk rock so if people are just getting into punk, check out this band. Either way, you should get this CD.
Bottom Line: Hell yeah, these guys are punk rock! Not that crap that’s out today and people think is punk.
Notable Tracks: “Common Cause” “Saved” “Moon Over Marin” “Sekai” “Saved” “Synchronicty II”
