After the press kit namechecks Pink Floyd, the Who, Miles Davis and Radiohead, and makes a big deal about artists that were ahead of their times, here comes The Strange – the worst, most pointless drivel ever. How is sappy, breathless vocals over ballady, piano-driven ballads new and different? How is it even “Strange”?

This band has to be on some serious crack to think they’re doing anything interesting or groundbreaking. Even in terms of piano ballady rock, this isn’t even good. It’s so dull, pretentious, and derivative, and lacks any of the talent they so worship from their musical heroes. I’ve heard better music from the dude who plays the white piano at bar mitvah cocktail hours.

Bottom Line: Piano ballads that lack any talent, distinction, or point.
