Their fourth release on Hollywood evinces the Suicide Machines still struggling to carve out their definitive sound. From skapunk to street punk to mod rock to whatever else, the band’s kitchen sink approach can be considered either refreshingly experimental or annoyingly schizophrenic.

Steal This Record runs the gamut of melodic punk to screamo to a cover of an REM song. While I think the album doesn’t flow exceptionally well, they’re good at what they do (which is everything), and the production is crisp.
