Everyone has their PERFECT album: Guns n Roses had Appetite, Queensryche had Operation: Mindcrime, the Toasters had New York Fever. And Switchblades got this one.
It is without a doubt there best one yet. The lyrics are still a little corny (but nowhere as cliched as their earlier stuff), the worst being on Therapy and Fear. The music is top-notch. Going toward a more laid-back direction was a great idea. Tina Roots vocals are soothing, hypnotic even lovely. She sounds especially good on Invisible and Naked Birthday, probably the two strongest tracks on the album.
Their trademark trip-hop percussion and synths add to the reverie without taking away from the goth feel. All in all, this is definitely one of the best Cleopatra releases this year, and my favorite Switchblade album. Highly recommended, and not only for goth fans.
