“Music Saves Lives” is one of those public service announcement CD’s that is supposed to bring attention to some depressing part of teenagers lives. The message behind the compilation is a good one and the proceeds from its purchase go towards the American Red Cross.

Now that we got all of the touchy feely stuff out of the way, I would like to make my own PSA…this compilation sucks dog balls. It’s almost exactly like those stupid Atticus compilations from a few years back…lot’s and lots of emo bands that sound exactly the same. Take a look at the line up: New Found Glory, Kaddisfly, Reliant K, Mae, The Panic Division, Daphne Loves Derby…vomit. Honestly, if someone bought me this comp, I think that I would be worse for the wear. All eighteen tracks are dull, drab and depressing. That’s emo for you, I guess.

If you think that this CD is worth it just because the proceeds go to the American Red Cross, it isn’t. If you want to support the Red Cross give blood or just make a cash donation. You’ll thank me for it and you’ll probably get a free cookie, and THAT my friend, is a hundred times better than having to sit through this piece of sonic crap.

Bottom Line: Music saves lives, but this compilation takes them.
Notable Tracks: K-os-Sunday Morning, Head Automatica-Lying Through Your Teeth
