The Weirdos are fucking cool. One of the first punk bands in LA, they had a don’t give a shit punk attitude and execution, and a proto-new wave penchant for weirdness, goofiness, and experimentation. They were sort of like the Mothers of I’vention of the early punk world.

Although these 16 tracks are mostly B-sides and previously unreleased or live tunes, they span the band’s career and serve as a pretty good intro to the band. To reflect on how ahead of their time they were, check out “It Means Nothing”, their cover of “7 & 7 Is”, their big hits “We Got the Neutron Bomb” and “Destroy All Music”, and the post-punk no-wave of “Hey Big Oil” and “Skateboards to Hell”.
