Who are Western Addiction? They’re a supergroup formed by Fat Wreck employees, and they’re better than most of the Fat bands. Not sure where they got the name, as The Fatties would’ve been cooler. Then if they got banned somewhere, a sign could be posted that says “No Fatties.”

Anyway, for a band created by bored workers of a label, these guys are very good old-school straight-forward hardcore. They might even be TOO straight-forward, as the riffing is largely monotonous and dull (though that’s not unlike most old-school hardcore bands). But these guys rock hard and heavy and make good use of breakdowns. Vocals are strong and add to the nostalgic old-school DC-style hardcore sound.
