DVD Tuesday Roundup (April 28th 2009)

DVD Reviews | By on Apr 28th, 2009

Welcome to DVD Tuesday Roundup for the week of April 28th 2009. Each week I’ll list the latest DVD releases that are worth buying or not. I can’t review everything I get but I’ll add quick reviews/snaps next to each title that’s being released. Each DVD title links to Amazon.com, and if buy from that link that, you’ll be helping out this website! I’m away in Dublin, Ireland right now but I had time to do this before I left, so here it goes!

Here are the DVD releases of the week:

Star Trek: The Original Series – Season 1 [Blu-ray]

I still haven’t seen an episode or movie of Star Trek, That’s all about the change with the JJ Abrams movie coming out in a few weeks.

Bride Wars

Not sure which actress I find hotter, but right now leading on Anne Hathaway. Still doesn’t change the fact that I don’t really want to see this movie.

X-Men, Volume 1 (Marvel DVD Comic Book Collection)

All I can say is, IT’S ABOUT FUCKING TIME! This 90’s X-Men cartoon was amazing and I watched just about every episode. The DVDs aren’t broken up in seasons but volumes. But thankfully the episodes are in order. Volume 2 ends with the 5 part episode The Phoenix Saga. Now release the rest!

Marvel X-Men Volume 2

See Above. Full reviews coming after I get back from Ireland.

Hotel for Dogs

If the DVD came with a free puppy, I still wouldn’t see this.

Wilco – Ashes of American Flags

Haven’t really gotten into Wilco’s music, but perhaps if I see this concert movie I’ll appreciate their music? Who knows. I did like some of the songs they did with Billy Bragg.

The Da Vinci Code (Two-Disc Extended Cut + BD Live) [Blu-ray]

First time didn’t like the movie that much. Then I kept watching it, over and over again. Now it’s one of my favorite movies and can’t wait to see Angels & Demons now! This is an extended cut of the film, and on Blu-Ray. Damnit, I need to get Blu-Ray already.

American Dad!, Vol. 4

I abandoned this show after the first season, but every once and awhile I’ll put on an episode and laugh. I just had too many shows to watch. Maybe if I got the full seasons to review from Fox I’d be able to see the other seasons?

The Uninvited (2009)

The Uninvited is a remake of the Korean horror flick A Tale of Two Sisters that stars Elizabeth Banks. Sounds like a porno, but sadly this is just another horror flick.

Spin City: The Complete Second Season

Hilarious sitcom that got funnier as the seasons went along. Well until Michael J Fox left the show.

The Looney, Looney, Looney Bugs Bunny Movie

Doesn’t get any better with cartoon movies! This is a compilation of sorts, featuring excellent and side splitting shorts from Bugs and the gang. Yosemite Sam makes a deal with the devil, and features some of my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons ever!

While She Was Out

Hey, remember Kim Basinger?

The Booby Hatch

Man, the 70s had some GREAT movie titles!
