Things are going to start slowing down at the site now, as I prepare myself for my wedding and all the chaos that surrounds it. The wedding is 2.5 weeks away and things here will probably be quiet for the month of July. If something is updated, it probably means I escape for a minute to post something haha. But anywho…It’s time for the DVD/Blu-Ray Tuesday Roundup for June 28th 2011. The titles coming out today include: The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Extended Edition + Digital Copy) Blu-ray, Sucker Punch, Beastly, Warrior’s War, Season of the Witch, Doobie Brothers: Live at the Greek Theatre, Bad Company: Live at Wembley, Challenge of the Gobots: The Original Miniseries and more. Each week I’ll list the latest DVD/Blu-Ray releases and point out the ones worth buying. I can’t review everything I get so this serves as a nice guide for what’s coming out each week. Plus, it’s just fun making fun of movies and TV shows!
Perhaps the best movie series ever comes to Blu-Ray finally in it’s extended edition form. The documentaries that were on the DVD are here as well, just not in Blu-Ray form. Either way, they are the best extras I’ve ever seen and it always makes me want to go back to school and do something in the movies instead. Can’t wait to see things like Mines of Moria, Helm’s Deep, March of the Ents and Battle of the Pelennor Fields all on Blu-Ray!
I have to review Sucker Punch so I’ll hopefully get to this movie this week. It looks cool visually, like all Zack Snyder movies…but not sure this will be good story-wise.
I don’t know when Nic Cage became the butt of everyone’s jokes, but this movie looks pretty silly. I think watching Nicolas Cage movies now is like watching Arnold movies…just for the over the top acting and the silliness of them. Have a bad movie night with Season of the Witch, Ghost Rider and top it off with The Wicker Man! haha.
A modern, awful take on Beauty and the Beast. Do they have the song “Be Our Guest” in this but sung by a guyliner wearing emo band?
Paul Giamatti is good in everything he does.
I love this movie. It’s a lot of fun! At the time, the CGI was impressive but now it looks kind of bad. If the movie was made today, imagine the possibilities…They could digital remove all that back hair from Robin Williams!
Is this the concert where Re-Run is recording the show but he only tapes himself eating popcorn?
Bad Company put on a great show! Can’t wait to see this one.
This is one giant piece of shit.
I reviewed this already but Gobots brought back a lot of memories. It’s still not as good as Transformers.
