DVD/Blu-Ray Tuesday Roundup

It’s time for the DVD/Blu-Ray Tuesday Roundup of June 5th 2012! Some of titles coming out today include: John Carter, Act of Valor, Safe House, Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eighth Season, Burn Notice: The Complete Fifth Season, Breaking Bad: The Complete Fourth Season, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, The Layover and more. Each week I’ll list the latest DVD/Blu-Ray releases and point out the ones worth buying. I can’t review everything I get so this serves as a nice guide for what’s coming out each week. Plus, it’s just fun making fun of movies and TV shows!

John Carter (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

John Carter is a visual effects blockbuster that should have been better at the box office but just wasn’t. I don’t think you should pay attention to the box office with this one. It’s not an excellent movie but it’s a fun, confusing one.

Act of Valor [Blu-ray]

I like me a good military movie. I’ll rent this one.

Safe House (Two-Disc Combo Pack: Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + UltraViolet)

Never heard of this but has Denzel and Ryan Reynolds in it so it must be decent right? right?

Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete Eighth Season

This season was pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Burn Notice: The Complete Fifth Season

One of my favorite shows to watch in the Summer. Looking forward to the new season premiering this month.

Breaking Bad: The Complete Fourth Season [Blu-ray]

I really need to set aside some time to watch Breaking Bad

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / UltraViolet Digital Copy)

What movie exec genius decided to greenlight this turd?

The Three Stooges: The Ultimate Collection

I’d love to sit down for a weekend and watch this.

American Pickers: Volume 3

I love American Pickers but I feel like it’s starting to get into the staged acting territory. Like with American Chopper or Ghost Hunters, at first it felt real but now everything just sort of feels staged in-between picks. Maybe even during the picks too. I still like the show though.

Pawn Stars: Volume 4

I don’t like Pawn Stars as much as American Pickers.

The Layover

I actually like this travel show from Anthony Bourdain better than No Reservations because he at least provides details about the actual city and what to see/not to see. One more season of this and then he’s off to CNN. It will be strange seeing him on there.

Also coming out today:

The Sting [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy] (Universal’s 100th Anniversary)

White Collar: Season Three

Yellow Submarine [Blu-ray]

Workaholics: Seasons 1 & 2 [Blu-ray]

Falling Skies: The Complete First Season

Machine Gun Preacher [Blu-ray]

John Mellencamp: It’s About You [Blu-ray]
