If you never heard of Fawlty Towers then now is the time to know about it. All 13 episodes have been released on DVD. The show was a big hit (I Believe) in England but only had 13 episodes. It stars John Cleese as the crazy, short tempered Basil Fawlty and he runs the hotel with his wife, a maid, and a waiter/servant from Spain. Every episode is out right hilarious, especially all the things Basils does to Manuel, the waiter/servant. I recommend seeing the episodes “Hotel Inspectors,” and “The Germans.” Seeing Basil Fawlty going insane every episode is funny as hell. Besides all 13 episodes on the disc, there’s some out takes, commentary with the directors, and interviews. The quality isn’t the greatest, but it’s definitely clearer than the stuff on TV and VHS. The sound quality is okay, not the greatest. If you thought John Cleese was great in Monty Python, wait til you see him in Fawlty Towers. If you don’t want to get the complete collection, they sell 3 seperate discs with the seasons on there. Or you can probably see them on BBC America or PBS. I recommend the DVD complete collection though.
