What’s a Snork? I’m still trying to figure that out and I used to watch this cartoon! Warner Brothers Archive has released the first season on DVD. If you’re itching to watch this show from your childhood, now’s your chance!
Snorks are little sea creatures, no bigger than your thumb that live in Snorkland. Back in 1600s, Captain Ortega’s ship was attacked and went underwater. He was eventually found alive where he claimed to have been talking about all these little Snorks. So that’s the story of the Snorks. Their cute, fishy little creatures with snorkels on their heads. Pretty much the Snorks are just like the Smurfs, except they are underwater and have many Ocean puns. Their currency is clams so that’s just 1 example.
I love how Warner Archive resurrects these old Hanna Barbera cartoons, but the quality isn’t all that spectacular. I feel like that I can get better quality watching this on Boomerang (not in HD). But if you want these episodes without commercials, this is a good option.
I don’t really remember the Snorks or the episodes but I do remember watching it when I was younger in the 80s. I was always more a fan of Scooby Doo, Smurfs, Shirt Tales, and other Hanna Barbera cartoons than the Snorks. These episodes are perfect for young children and quite adorable but I can’t see myself watching these for too long. As an adult, I found these episode kind of boring and didn’t really go anywhere haha. Of course, if I had children of my own, I’d put this on for them to watch instead of the newer crap that is on TV.
The Snorks aren’t for everybody but I’d like watching it for nostalgic purposes.
