I was looking forward to this movie, but the fucking audience had to ruin it for me. It was TALK-A-THON today at the movies. Everyone and their mothers was talking out loud today. I had nowhere to move so I had to stay put. Let me talk about the trailers that I’ve seen today as well.
First was this really dumb trailer for a movie about cheerleaders??!! What, are they running out of ideas for movies now? Who cares about cheerleaders and their competitions..Oh no, I didn’t do my triple cart wheel right..Next victim, a really annoying trailer (that I’ve seen 50 times this past month) for Bless For Child with this ugly little girl named Cody. I was like, oh no, this isn’t about Kathie Lee is it? Trailers always show too much and show all the funny parts.
Which was sort of the case for Scary Movie. I was very grumpy from the stupid frat guys talking during the whole movie..”WHAT?” “DUDE?” “THAT’S NASTY!”..The movie is very similar to the South Park movie last summer with the nasty type of humor. I like that kind of humor but I didn’t laugh as much as I thought I would. I was kind of disappointed with this Wayans Bros. movie. I liked Don’t Be Menace… and I think the best one to date is still I’m Gonna Get You Sucka. Don’t get me wrong, I laughed a lot and there was some funny parts. Not all of the funny stuff was in the trailer and commercials.
I thought the one-liners were good and that was basically the whole movie. Based on one-liners and farting. I did like this horror spoof premise though because I’m sick of these teen supposed horror flicks. They also spoof stuff from The Usual Suspects, Sixth Sense, Matrix, and the retarded, played out Wassup commercials. I laughed a lot for this one scene where Keenen is actually in the movie who is doing a Titanic/ Amistad spoof..funny stuff. This movie is probably going to do good this weekend since the showing I was at was filled and I heard the showings were sold out tonight. I think I have to see it again, AT HOME, to see if I like it or not, because it was hard to hear sometimes.
This movie is basically set for younger audiences with the kind of jokes but older people might want to stay away from this. It gets pretty raunchy. I think I did see older people get up from the movie and walk out. But overall, the trailer is better than the movie I think.
Favorite Scenes: When the whole audience kills a black woman for talking out loud during the movie! I HAD TO APPLAUD TO THAT!
Running Time: 90 minutes
