Orange County punk rock legends D.I. have announced a series of holiday shows in support of their new studio album, On The Western Front. The band will play a series of shows around California throughout December before embarking on a tour of Hawaii in January.
“We are stoked to be going back to Hawaii with friends at 808shows.com,” says D.I guitarist Clinton Calton. “We have not yet been to Maui and are looking forward to the show there with The Circle Jerks and Agent Orange. It will be a good run of shows.”
D.I. formed in 1983 in Fullerton around ex-Social Distortion and Adolescents member Casey Royer. D.I was thrown to the forefront of the punk scene after performing their punk classic Richard Hung Himself in the 1984 movie, Suburbia (Directed by Penelope Spheeris). The band split in 1995, but their influence was felt for years to come with high profile bands like Slayer covering their songs. The group reformed in 2002 with Royer at the helm of a rejuvenated line-up.
On The Western Front, which was released through Suburban Noize Records, is the first studio album from D.I. since 1994’s State of Shock. The album is a return to the classic punk sound that originated in California during the 80s and with powerful political lyrics that empower listeners.
